I forgot how productive I can be at a quiet desk all by myself. With school starting next week I have had a lot to get done before my upcoming senior and LAST year of college (or at least my bachelors). However, with all the chaos of moving into mine and Katie's new apartment my to do list was not getting smaller. That was until today. You see I am covering for my sister-in-law in the intramural office while all of them are off on their retreat. Why only supervisors go and not the officials I have no clue, but this time I guess i'm okay with it since I get to work a lot of hours over the next few days. Plus the office is empty and people only come in to ask questions on average one person every two hours. So here I am, my laptop, the office computer, and my cellphone all on the desk (yes i love technology) opened to different things and all doing different tasks that are found on my to-do-list. Life is great and this quiet desk in this empty office is doing wonders for me. This is why after much debate at target two nights ago I convinced Katie to let me buy a corner desk for our apartment (even though i had to concede to her a chair she really wanted). Desks create a magical place of solitude for me where, unlike in the real world, I can get things done. A place where things can be studied, tasks can be accomplished, and Facebook is the only distraction. So here is a shout out to all desks that have helped me throughout my college career, especially the desk on the second floor, in the corner, by itself where no one else goes! You have all been my saviors throughout the years. And to my new desk at home, although you may not be the all-mighty quad desk...
...you still mean so much to me!
